The River Valley Regional YMCA is a charitable, not-for-profit, health and human services organization committed to helping people reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body.
Our 6 locations are here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. The RVR YMCA is community-based and believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.
We strive to serve the entire community by providing financial assistance, which is determined based on the need demonstrated by household income and/or extenuating circumstances.
Funds for this assistance come from the generous support of those who give to our Annual Campaign.
Assistance is available for membership, senior programs, early childcare education, swim lessons, youth sports, camp, after-school care, and many of the other programs the Y offers. Eligibility for assistance and the amount of the support given is determined on an individual basis. If you have any questions.
What is the Financial Assistance Program?
The River Valley Regional YMCA’s Financial Assistance Program provides families in need with
financial support to participate in the Y’s membership and program activities.
How is the financial assistance amount be determined?
We have a sliding fee scale, based on total household income which assists in determining the amount of assistance.
How long does the financial assistance continue?
The need for financial assistance is reassessed every twelve months.
How is confidential information handled?
Only you and the assisting Y staff will have knowledge of the financial assistance application.
How quickly can I expect to receive financial assistance?
This will depend on how quickly you complete the Financial Assistance Application, gather the requested documents and turn in the application to the YMCA. After the financial assistance representative receives the information, you will receive a call within a week to ten days.
How do I apply?
Complete the confidential application form and return it to your YMCA’s Welcome Center staff. Please remember to include required documentation. (Most recent 1040 tax re-turn and one months’ proof of income for all adults in household.)
May I do anything in return for this assistance?
Yes! The YMCA is a volunteer organization, and members are encouraged to volunteer as a way to help the Y and serve our community. Also, our donors appreciate knowing how their contributions are used, so submitting a short note about how you have benefited from the Financial Assistance Program would be appreciated.
