YMCAs serve nearly 900,000 people across Pennsylvania in urban, suburban and rural communities. YMCAs bring together young and old, men and women, people of all faiths, backgrounds and incomes. Nearly $29 million is raised annually for scholarships, subsidies and other community services in PA YMCAs.

Serve nearly 400,000 youth
YMCAs across Pennsylvania give children and their parents the opportunity to p

Provide after school programs

Pennsylvania YMCAs are the largest provider of child care in the state. YMCAs offer affordable, high quality child care to working families regardless of ability to pay.  Scholarships, subsidies and outreach provide critical assistance to lowincome families. Other programs include middle school recreation activities, sports leagues, arts an

Promote healthy lifestyles to prevent childhood obesity
The YMCA’s long-standing dedication to holistic health has never been more important to the future of young people. YMCAs are leading the fight against childhood obesity, a critical state and national health crisis. 29.3% of PA children ages 10-17 are overweight or obese. PA YMCAs are making it a priority to help youth, families and communities understand the critical importance of healthy lifestyles.

Committed to serving teens

Pennsylvania YMCAs are promoting the well-being of young adolescents at a time that is most critical to the development of choices about healthy lifestyles. The proven strengths offered by the YMCA of a safe environment, values based programs, and caring adults, supports positive decisions and options for PA teens.

Impact children, families, individuals and communities

Our reach and impact can be seen in the millions of lives we touch. Across the Commonwealth, YMCAs are committed to helping: Children and youth develop positive values, their commitment to service and their motivation to learn. Families build stronger bonds, spend time together and become more engaged in their communities. Individuals strengthen their spiritual, mental and physical well-being. Communities are enriched and become stronger.
